You will be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskin, and it will be a sign of the action between me and you. The Mosaic Association (named after Moses), also known as the Sinai Covenant (named after the Biblical Mount Sinai), refers to a biblical covenant between God and the biblical Israelites, including their proselytists. [1] [2] The institution and directives of the mosaic covenant are recorded in the first five books of the Hebrew Bible, traditionally attributed to Moses and collectively called Torah or Pentateal. This covenant is sometimes also called the law of Moses, the Mosaic Law or the 613 mitvot or commandments (singular: Mitzvah). Christians see Jesus as the mediator of this new covenant, and that his blood shed at his crucifixion is the necessary blood of the covenant: as in all the covenants between God and man described in the Bible, the New Covenant is considered “a bond in the blood that is sovereignly managed by God.” [23] It has been theorized that the New Covenant is the Law of Christ, as was said in his Sermon on the Mountain. [24] The period between 586 and 539 BC C.E., when the rulers and elites of Judea were exiled to Babylon. The exile ended when Kyrus of Persia defeated Babylon and allowed the Judeans to return home. As human rebellion threatened to undermine God`s ultimate goal (i.e. to bless all nations with the “blessing of the descendants” of Abraham), Mosawe`s covenant also included the means by which the Lord and Israel could be maintained: service of sacrifice, especially on the day of the sacrifice of atonement (Lv 16), would ritually sow for the sin of Israel and symbolically express God`s forgiveness. According to Mendhenhall, external pressure has led to the released Israelite tribes to come together as a monarchical unit of stability and solidarity. He also argues that during this consolidation, the new state also had to communy religious traditions, which were part of the different groups, to avoid differences between those who might believe that the formation of a state would replace the direct governance of God. That is why, Mendenhall says, these loose-bound tribes merged under the Mosamosen belt to legitimize their unit.

They believed that the obedient would confess to obeying the law. They also believed that the king was brought to power as a result of God`s blessing, and that this accession was the fulfillment of the promise of God`s dynasty to David. Mendenhall also notes that a conflict arose between those who believed in David`s covenant and those who believed that God would not support all the actions of the state. As a result, the two parties were relatively distant, and the Confederation of David and the Federation of Mosaics were almost completely forgotten. [7] In an article comparing the alliances and forms of contracts that were at the time, Mendenhall focuses on the contracts of Hittitic Suzerainty. These contracts, established between an emperor (Suzerain) and a king of poor quality (vassal), were defined by several important elements. The contracts were based on the previous help or happiness that Oberinn had delivered to the vassal and the obligations that the Vassal had imposed on the Overlord.
